Croatia, Hungary sign pipeline connection deal

After many gas line crisis' last year, Croatia has recently signed a deal with Hungary to connect their natural gas lines. With this approximately $500 million deal, Croatia hopes to reduce many of their natural gas problems and incrase the security of Croatia's gas supply.

Recent problems have made it very important for Croatia to look into liquefied natural gas. Problems with Ukraine and Russia have made Croatia's natural gas needs a dyer one.

This arcticle states that the new pipeline would be able to hold around 6.5 billion cubic meters as well as allow two-way shipments. This is not only a smart economic investment, but it is also a good investment for Croatia in order to ensure that their country will have a high availability of natural gas in the future. Not only would this gas line ensure the needed amount of natural gas, but it is expected that Croatia will be able to producemore natural gas than needed, with a more environmental twist.

The article also states that a company called FGSZ will contruct the pipeline on the Hungary side, while Croatia will pay for the 88km in their country.
